Winchester lies on the River Itchen and it is considered to be one of the best English chalk streams.  There are fishing clubs along the river where you can learn how to fly fish under the guidance of a tutor.  At Winchester the Itchen powered a medieval corn mill which is still functioning today (as a tourist attraction).  Across the road from the mill is the wet woodlands reserve of the Winnall Moors.

Horse Riding

The South Downs National Park stretches from Winchester to Eastbourne on the south coast.  In Hampshire there are over 465 miles of horse riding tracks through rolling hills, forests and meadows.

Gym and Swimming

Hampshire is ideal walking country.  The LDP sits on the edge of woodland, Crab Wood and when you want some peace and quiet you can go walking and thinking. If you are here over a weekend, you can join one of the many walking groups.
